Bleeding during pregnancy may mean a lot of things and is a symptom for a lot of pregnancy complications. Bleeding during the first trimester is quite often and is often no cause for alarm, but bleeding during the second and third trimester could be due to complications that may affect both you and your baby.

During the first trimester, bleeding is often experienced. This bleeding is called implantation bleeding and is different from a regular menstruation. Implantation bleeding is very light compared to a menstruation. It is also accompanied by cramping in the abdominal area.

Other possible reasons for bleeding during the first trimester are infections in the pelvic cavity, infections in the urinary tract, a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy, or a molar pregnancy.

Most miscarriages cannot be prevented because this is the body’s way of stopping an unhealthy or abnormal pregnancy. Molar pregnancy is the presence and growth of an abnormal tissue instead of an embryo; on the other hand, an ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy wherein implantation occurs in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus. Ectopic Pregnancy is a serious condition and requires immediate attention. If you experience pain in the abdominal section that spreads up to your neck, vaginal bleeding that is watery and dark, and lightheadedness, consult your doctor immediately.

Bleeding in the second trimester and in the third trimester is a cause for alarm. The two most common causes for bleeding during the second or third trimester are placental complications such as placenta previa and placental abruption.

Placenta previa is the condition where in the placenta blocks the cervix, thus the baby would not be able to be delivered via a vaginal delivery. The bleeding that is caused by placenta previa often does not have any other symptoms; it does not accompany any pain. On the other hand, placental abruption is the early separation of the placenta from the uterine wall. In serious cases, this can cause heavy bleeding which could lead to hemorrhaging.

Both Placenta previa and Placental Abruption are very serious conditions which needs prompt attention. If not detected early, these could cause great damage to both mother and baby.

Aside from Placental Problems, bleeding in the third trimester could be a sign for labor. When the mucus plug that covers the cervix detaches, slight bleeding occurs. When this happens more than three weeks before your expected date of delivery, you are experiencing pre-term labor. Contact your doctor immediately.

When you experience bleeding during pregnancy, keep track of the consistency of the discharge and how much you are bleeding. It is best that you consult your doctor if you experience any sort of bleeding, either in the first, second, or third trimester, so that any possible complications may be detected early and will be treated accordingly.

Every pregnancy is different; between their bodies and their emotions, women go through many, many changes. Tinnitus is a condition that can cause roaring, buzzing, whistling, whooshing and ringing ears. When you are pregnant you may start to have these symptoms. The only one that can hear these sounds is you- there is no outside source for others to hear. With pregnancy you have your normal problems and when you add tinnitus on top of it, it will seem overwhelming. You can try to find ways to be more comfortable but this can sometimes be challenging.

Pregnancy affects women in so many different ways. Some may get swollen feet and hands whereas others problems are more serious. Some of the problems that pregnant women face can cause tinnitus. These generally go away when the pregnancy is over. In the middle of the second trimester the pregnancy can take a turn for the worse if you are not careful. Toxemia and preeclampsia or hypertension from the pregnancy can set in and this is not good for mom or the baby. This is usually caused from an over abundance of proteins found in your urine, high blood pressure and unexplained swelling that lasts a longer period than it should. There are many things that go along with pregnancy that could put you as high risk for hypertension: first pregnancy, multiple pregnancies, women over 40, teen mothers, high blood pressure, kidney disease and women whose mother or sister may have had it.

If you have problems such as blood pressure, this can be watched closely by your doctor. If you do suffer from high BP then you may be at risk for tinnitus. It is sometimes explained as a heartbeat that you hear in your ears. It is caused by rushing blood that is going through your arteries. It is sometimes referred to as pulsatile tinnitus. When you are pregnant, the sounds of tinnitus can be heightened and more of a disturbance than anything.

When you are having a baby sometimes problems arise like ringing ears.  Pregnancy may be the only reason that you are going through this. There really is nothing that you can do except wait until your baby is born. Along with these problems, you may start to notice that your sleeping patterns are changing. This is in part due to the weight you have put on during your pregnancy and when this begins to take its toll on your body you will see changes also in your mood. You may start to experience ringing ears; don’t worry thought because most of the time it goes away after you give birth.

Blood pressure also can be a pain while pregnant because it will cause the blood to rush and you will be able to hear it in the ears. When the pregnancy is over, you should hear less and less of the symptoms. Together you and your doctor can come up with a game plan to keep you and your baby safe during the home stretch of pregnancy.
