Health and Fitness During Pregnancy
Posted by: | CommentsDid you know that it is possible for a woman to be pregnant and not gain excess weight? There are simple means on how to make this happen. The woman needs to basically live a more positive health and fitness fit lifestyle and complement good foods with regular exercises.
It is a dream of every woman to be a mom. However, pregnancy is a difficult stage. Usually, the period is associated to excessive weight gain. Did you know that it’s possible for a pregnancy without pounds? Some think pregnancy naturally comes with added weight. Now is the time to think otherwise.
Pregnancy has always been regarded as an excuse to indulge. Normally, women tend to overeat when they are expecting. There can be changes in appetite, but it is always the case. Women think they can still gain weight anyhow. So why not just enjoy gaining added pounds? No wonder, pregnant women are usually overweight.
Pregnancy is a long nine months. Imagine how much food a woman can indulge in. Thus, women retain much weight after child labor. The problem is that it is harder to lose weight after pregnancy. You should rather avoid getting too overweight in pregnancy. This is to avoid having regrets in the end.
The concern should not always be figure and aesthetic wise, but should be more about health and fitness overall. Moreover, pregnant women should think about health above all. When you gain much weight, you compromise your overall fitness.
How can you prevent adding pounds during pregnancy? Self-control is the best way. You can always have a say on what and how much you eat. Eat nutritious foods for you and your baby. Foods like ice cream, chips and candies contribute to much weight gain. Unfortunately, they are also not nutritious. What you eat is shared to the baby. If you prefer to consume nutritious foods, nutrients are shared with the baby. Appropriate foods are usually not fat accumulating.
To stick to your figure and health, go for the better foods. Moreover, avoid junk foods and candies or sweets. They are not healthy, but are greatly fattening. Complement good food with regular exercise. Exercise routines eliminate excess fat deposits. They also improve blood circulation. Pregnant women who exercise are healthier. They can maintain ideal weight and figure. Moreover, their pregnancy will be much easier and comfortable.
You can easily have pregnancy without having to accumulate added excessive pounds. If you consume good food and exercise, you can do so. It is not that hard as you think. Pregnant women should still carry and maintain strong will in making it happen. If they aim not to gain much weight, they certainly could do so.
Health and fitness should not be compromised during pregnancy. While it is true that there is a greater urge to eat, there should be better self control imposed. After all, overindulgence could lead to excessive weight gain, which in turn could bring about a host of many other health issues and possible fatal diseases.

Pregnancy Fitness After The Baby Is Born
Posted by: | CommentsWhat happened to that pre-pregnancy body you once had? After nine months of your body going through numerous changes, many of which you do not like or enjoy, your newborn is here and its time to lose the excess weight you have most likely gained. You can speed the process of regaining your pre-pregnancy shape by exercising regularly.
While it may not help eliminate any stretch marks you may have, exercise will help you regain the body you had prior to becoming pregnant. Some of the most common questions asked by new moms are: How soon can one begin postpartum exercises? How long will it take to regain my pre-pregnancy shape? And what are the best exercises to help me achieve my goals? Keep in mind one of the most critical factors that help determine the answers to these questions is how healthy you were during your pregnancy – both physically and mentally.
Have you ever wondered how celebrity moms lose their baby weight so rapidly? One of the most common reasons is because they exercise strenuously prior to and during their pregnancy. Celebrities have been known to lose up to 60 pounds in what seemed like a few days. However, please keep in mind that this is not considered as the normal time frame. These individuals are also quite careful (almost to the point of obsession) about the types of foods they eat. They are also quite able to afford personal trainers and nannies so that they can perform their exercise routines 5-7 days a week for many hours at a time.
Because most new moms have the regular everyday tasks to contend with such as work, errands, families, losing that excess weight after childbirth is not quite so easy. Hopefully you found the time and the desire to engage in some kind of exercise during your pregnancy, even on the days you just wanted to simply crawl back in bed. If you did, you will find that the process of losing that extra baby weight will be a lot easier for you than for new moms who did no exercise at all while pregnant. Exercising regularly during your pregnancy will have given you the opportunity to become familiar with what will motivate you, give you the best results, and identify the types of exercise that you find the most enjoyable.
Walking, jogging, aerobics, yoga, and many other types of exercise will allow you to lose the extra weight more quickly and you will feel better at the end of each day. Having a new baby can be an exhausting task and the simple act of exercising regularly will undoubtedly increase your energy and stamina when you need it most. Most doctors will say that it is safe to start a post-pregnancy exercise routine six weeks after the birth of your child. Walking and swimming can be started shortly after your baby is born if you do so in moderate amounts at a slow pace. Work up slowly to the more strenuous exercises to ensure your safety and reduce the risks of any complications that could arise from over-exerting yourself before your body has had adequate time to recover.

Post Pregnancy Fitness
Posted by: | CommentsGetting back into shape after delivering can be a daunting task for many mothers whose body has just undergone one of the most drastic changes known. But research studies show that moderate exercise can not only help lose the post-baby weight that was added during pregnancy, but can also boost the mood of the mother along with improving overall fitness. And new research shows that moderate exercise during breastfeeding does not affect milk production, a worry that many women have when starting an exercise program after giving birth.
Research does show that it takes time to lose the weight in a healthy manner. Doctors recommend following a healthy lifestyle to shed the weight that includes ample protein, vitamins and minerals and of course is portion controlled. Especially if a C-section was done, as C-sections are major surgeries, recovery takes time, but research shows that the weight will come off.
A recent study of women who had just given birth showed that they had less post partum depression and regained their pre-pregnancy weight more quickly when they started exercising and following a portion controlled healthy lifestyle program shortly after giving birth. For many mothers, according to researchers, understanding how much nutrition they need is difficult at first because before they were eating for two, and now, while they are still breastfeeding they no longer need to carry the extra weight for childbirth. In the study the women started with just 10 to 15 minutes of moderate walking three times per week and worked up over a period of three months to 30 minutes per day six days per week of walking for exercise.
Additionally the women aimed for losing weight by using portion controlled meal replacement bars throughout the day to assist with calorie control, aimed at losing 1-2 pounds per week while maintaining their energy levels.
Over the 6 month study the women on the exercise and meal replacement program were able to achieve their pre-pregnancy weight while the control were still heavier than before pregnancy.
According to lead researcher Amy Zarins PhD, “being realistic about the weight loss and reclaiming their original figure was key to getting back down to pre-pregnancy size for the women in the research study. Many of the women were so excited to finally be able to lose the weight they had to be tempered with doing so in a healthy manner, and of course enjoying their new bundle of joy along the way.”

Fitness After Pregnancy
Posted by: | CommentsStaying Fit After Conceiving
Woring out after Giving Birth is very important for the sake of your well-being and overall level of health and fitness. Post pregnancy exercise is best left until about two weeks after delivery as to not place too much stress on your body too soon after giving birth.
It is best to ease yourself back in to working out starting with light walks around the community. Believe it or not but after pregnancy I used to use my stairs as a stepper and the grocery buggy as the optimal exercise tool shopping for the family.
Once you are gradually began light exercise activities you can begin to center attention more on getting back in top shapewith more arduous exercise like swimming and resistance exercises to cultivate muscle tone. Light dumbbells are fitting for resistance exercise. Don’t worry though you won’t get bulky, us women aren’t built for body building it’s simply to boost our muscle tone so we can gain a nice figure.
Depressing your diet slightly after giving birth is a wonderful idea because you no longer need the excess calories to support your baby and deflating your calorie intake will ensure you shed those pregnancy pounds easily and steadily over the coming months after conceiving. I would advise against thinking about losing the weight too fleetly as your body is still in recovery from having a baby and requires plenty of energy for this to be done.
Fitness after pregnancy can be great fun and we promote you to involve your husband and the new baby in as many of your exercise routines as possible. It’s great for bonding with your baby and ensuring your family doesn’t feel left out or neglected now that the new baby is here and he will secretly be content you are making efforts to get back your figure.

So, you are comtemplating the purchase of a pregnancy fitness DVD, congratulations, not too many expectant mothers know about fitness during pregnancy. A pregnancy fitness DVD may be right for you but have you looked at any alternatives? Have you considered the advantages that a well-structured exercise program could have for you?
Pregnancy, how does fitness affect it? Well, studies have proven that safe exercises for pregnant women make for significantly better physical health for both mother and child in many ways. For example:
* You can keep your weight gain under control
* Avoid various complications from obesity
* Experience an easier labor
* Get your figure back more quickly after delivery
These benefits are all well and good. The trick is in understanding the dos and don’ts of fitness during pregnancy even before buying the pregnancy fitness DVD. Keep in mind that too little knowledge can be dangerous for you and your baby especially where additional stress like exercise is placed on your body.
CHECK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN
This is an absolute MUST, you should not undergo any pre-natal exercise program without consulting your doctor or your family’s health care provider. Although exercise generally is good for your body and your overall well-being, not all pregnant women are up to it, or at least not to the same degree.
For example, some mothers may be advised to take it easy and get bed rest if they have a very delicate pregnancy or high blood pressure.
But it’s all a question of intensity, pregnancy fitness DVDs are usually aimed at a general market, maybe you need something you can tailor to your needs, after all you are not entering the pregnancy Olympics. Find out about low impact pregnancy ‘friendly exercises by clicking on the link in the resource box below.
Safety First and Always for your little bundle of love.
Even if your doctor has given you the OK to start exercise, you should always bear in mind the number one rule of fitness during pregnancy – safety first and safety always.
You can avoid putting you and your baby at unnecessary risk by ensuring you don’t overextend your limits. So remember the following tips:
Healthy Pregnancy Tips #1
This is important for any exercise but especially while you are pregnant. Before going into the main exercise movements always gently stretch your muscles and warm up slowly. Checkout the contents of any pregnancy fitness DVD you are considerng buying, does it have warm-up and cool down exercises, does it have exercises of different intensity?
Healthy Pregnancy Tips #2
Modify your activities to suit your condition. Even if you think that you can run a marathon, maybe your baby can’t. If at any time exercise causes you to be breathless, excessively tired or causes you pain, stop straight away, your body is giving you a message to take it easier.
Healthy Pregnancy Tips #3
Avoid jerking, jarring and twisting movements that place additional stress on your abdomen as well as your joints and other load-bearing body parts, you don’t want to lose your balance. If you want fitness during pregnancy don’t be in too much of a hurry, little and often works for most moms. Instead of being indoors watching a pregnancy fitness DVD you could be out in the fresh air. Walking is a great exercise for most pregnant moms.

Pregnancy Fitness Myths Exposed
Posted by: | CommentsBeing pregnant is a tremendous experience filled with joy and excitement. It can also be a time when your body goes through so many changes that it can be a challenge to keep up with all of it. Lots of moms feel it becomes very difficult to maintain their once fit figures while they are pregnant and fear for the worst once they have the baby and cannot get their figures back to what they were. There are a lot of pregnancy fitness myths out here and many moms are neglecting staying active throughout their pregnancies for fear they will harm their babies. While there will be many activities that are not recommended for pregnant women to engage in while they are with child, there are still lots of options for keeping a healthy weight while pregnant.
Some fitness myths for pregnant women to get trapped into believing are true are that they should not stay active at all while carrying the baby, they should not use exercise machinery at all and that they should not be concerned about their weight while pregnant. These are all completely false statements that have apparently not been made by an expert in the fitness field. To not be active while you are pregnant is never a good thing, especially if prior to becoming with child you were very active. The baby is not fond of staying in the same position all day long or even for a few hours at a time, which is why during the last few months of pregnancy most babies become very active inside the womb as a way of notifying you to get up and get moving. They can become stuck in a position that is uncomfortable and strongly desire movement which is why you should always try to change your positioning or walk around for a few minutes every hour or two if possible during the day.
Not utilizing exercise machinery is a silly statement to believe as well as there are great activities such as walking on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike that can be very rewarding for a pregnant woman. To not be concerned about your weight while pregnant is a two fold situation that needs to be addressed. Firstly, you may not need to worry about not eating that last bite of steak while pregnant as the additional calories are needed for the baby to continue grow properly, but you do not have the right to eat as you please and gain an huge amount of weight as that can have very serious reactions. For example, when you gain seventy pounds during pregnancy you run the risk of getting diabetes while pregnant and also having high blood pressure and troublesome pains in your joints form the rapid weight gain. You can definitely eat more than you were accustomed to, but within moderation. Try a balanced diet of lots of healthy proteins and vegetables and fruits along with a simple exercise routine. Walking or taking a yoga class three times per week will be wonderful for you to take some pressure off of your spine while pregnant, stay at a healthy weight and feel better overall and be at your best to give birth.
Jesus learned a lot while his wife was pregnant. He learned how her body changes and the risks to look out for. He found that there were a lot of pregnancy myths. He writes about what he found on his website. He also writes about topics such as the insinkerator garbage disposal and the best garbage disposal.
